Job description
The Finance Solutions Analyst role is in the GBS Finance Solutions Optimisation (Americas) Team, which is part of the global GBS- Finance Solutions Team. 
The GBS Finance Solutions Optimisation team enables Continuous Improvement in the Global Financial Template Design, performs Process and Functional Requirements Studies to Optimise & Standardize processes especially in the Record to Report space, manages relationship with users of Finance Template Systems to support standardization and where required determines optimum systems tools.
The team is also involved in developing compelling cases for business improvement projects (within GBS’s Remit) which save BP money, enhance control and reduce business risk. 

Key accountabilities 
The role of the Finance Solutions Analyst (Americas) is to: 
a) Assist on Pre-Appraise, Appraise and Select studies which address significant problem areas within GBS’s remit. Develop a compelling case for change. Gain management approval and funding to move the project into Define / Execute. Help with team formation and project handover. 
b) Manage post GFT go-live demand and enable “value added” Continuous Improvement in Financial Template through
o The facilitation of Regional User Groups striving for Global Alignment
o Feedback to Financial Solutions Team on potential enhancements to the Financial Template 
o Working with Businesses to move the required changes through to delivery 
c) Perform Process and functional requirements studies to optimise & standardize processes especially in the Record to Report space, obtain stakeholder buy in to the standardized process and enable its adoption. This generally includes 
o Identification of the key stakeholders across BP who will support the Analyst to 
 Confirm the demand for an improved solution 
 Base line the existing processes across all GBS locations and countries 
 Define a set of functional requirements based on inputs gathered during base lining workshops conducted and interactions with stakeholders
 Determine opportunities to deliver improvements & efficiencies
o Drive agreement across these key stakeholders to confirm these requirements as Global 
o Generate buy-in from these stakeholders to adopt improved solution as well as support from their leadership 
o Define & agree global process along with Template Process Owners & Internal Controls
o If required, evaluate Systems options which are consistent with the BP portfolio of strategic tools to enable the proposed global process. Define & articulate the business case for the global process & solution
o Define roadmap to roll out the global process & support its implementation, including managing risks. Where required, work with various IT&S stakeholders to deliver the systems solution.
d) Be abreast of & evaluate new SAP Finance functionality for use within BP
e) Manage GFP relationship with the Business; Link Financial Solutions Team and the Businesses and manage the boundaries
f) Support the Financial Template Business users (both from a process & data perspective)
g) Support Financial Systems optimisation, Perform ad hoc reviews/peer assists for Businesses, Functions and GFP Management 
The Finance Solutions Analyst will be a member of a larger GBS Finance Solutions Optimisation team which covers all regions in the world.

Essential Education 
Degree in Accounting/ Finance or Business Administration. 
Essential experience and job requirements 
Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience.
The successful candidate must have a good knowledge of the accounting processes within Finance.
Strong communication skills both verbal & written
Ability to influence, generate enthusiasm & carry along the stakeholders 

Eligibility Requirements

Desirable criteria & qualifications 
It is desirable that the candidate has a good working knowledge of SAP FI/CO. Experience of GFT will be an advantage.
Knowledge of Six Sigma, Project Management and methodologies e.g. CVP, EEM will be an advantage.
