IT Job - Systems Engineer
Responsibilities include:
Oversee enterprise applications including NetApp SANs, IBM midrange servers, print solutions (Microsoft and proprietary), 50+ physical servers, 200+ virtual servers, Enterprise backup solutions, Microsoft AD/DNS/DHCP, Microsoft Exchange (including mail flow through data loss protection, antivirus, and malware protection), monitoring solutions (PRTG and SolarWinds), Citrix (XenApp, Provisioning Server, EdgeSight, and Storefront), AppSense (Management Center, Environment Manager, and Application Manager), and Antivirus.
Provide Level 3 support to Service Desk and Application Support teams.
Develop troubleshooting documentation for downstream support groups.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, management information systems, or related field and/or 5 years equivalent progressive experience
Knowledge of enterprise software applications including at least three of the following: VMware vCenter, NetApp Storage, Microsoft Active Directory/DNS/DHCP, or Citrix XenApp
Knowledge of the following preferred: IP routing and switching AND SolarWinds or PRTG
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written
On-call availability 24/7 as well as flexibility for occasional overnight travel
Capable of lifting and transporting moderately heavy objects such as data center hardware (routers, switches, and servers)
Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time while operating a computer
Satisfactory performance and attendance are required
Candidates will be required to pass applicable American Airlines pre-hire compliance checks
Must have acceptable credit history, which will be verified
